## Default route

### Phase 01 — Dive head first off the Lumbridge

*Foundation.* This route assumes a funded members account, not an iron account. Buy the Items-page shopping list and a practical travel kit, begin passive Farming immediately, then front-load pure-safe quest XP before manual training.

1. **Confirm the build and funding assumptions** (Setup)
   - This plan targets 60 Attack · 52 Prayer, 1 Defence, and assumes tradeable requirements can be bought on the Grand Exchange.
2. **Purchase all items from the Items page and bank them** (Gear)
   - Open the Items tab, buy every listed quantity on the Grand Exchange, and deposit the lot before questing. Skip the later untradeables and on-route pickups.
   - Open: https://purepath.fyi/items
3. **Bank a funded-account questing utility kit** (Gear)
   - Keep stamina or energy potions, food, antipoison, teleport jewellery, house teleport tablets, cannonballs, and basic melee, Ranged, and Magic gear stocked. These repeat-use supplies are separate from the exact quest-item shopping list.
4. **Buy a house in Rimmington** (Setup)
   - Your teleport and restoration hub later.
   - Wiki: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Player-owned_house

## Danger quests (non-exhaustive)

Some of these are useful to start, but completion or repeatable rewards can ruin a 1 Defence OSRS Pure. Verify every unlisted reward before claiming it.

- **A Soul's Bane** — Completion awards Defence XP.
- **Between a Rock…** — Completion awards Defence XP; start only for a specific access or diary use case.
- **Dragon Slayer I** — Start only after 69 Slayer for the route access; never complete.
- **Dragon Slayer II** — Unavailable safely because Dragon Slayer I awards Defence XP.
- **Fairytale I - Growing Pains** — Its Nature Spirit prerequisite awards Defence XP, so the fairy-ring quest chain is unavailable.
- **The Fremennik Trials** — Completion awards Defence XP; start only for a specific access use case.
- **Heroes' Quest** — Completion awards Defence XP and blocks its dependent quest branches.
- **Holy Grail** — Completion awards substantial Defence XP; start only if you specifically need Fisher Realm access.
- **King's Ransom** — Its Holy Grail prerequisite and quest rewards break a 1-Defence build.
- **Lunar Diplomacy** — Completion awards Defence XP, so Lunar spellbook and Occult altar plans are unavailable.
- **Nature Spirit** — Completion awards Defence XP.
- **Observatory Quest** — The random constellation reward can include Defence XP; do not gamble the build.
- **Olaf's Quest** — Completion awards Defence XP; start only if you specifically need brine rat access.
- **Recipe for Disaster - Lumbridge Guide** — This branch requires Nature Spirit and therefore cannot be completed safely.
- **Recipe for Disaster - Sir Amik Varze** — This branch requires Heroes' Quest and therefore cannot be completed safely.
- **Tears of Guthix** — The one-time quest is safe. The repeatable minigame can reward the lowest skill—including Defence on a pure—so do not play the minigame.
- **What Lies Below** — Completion awards Defence XP; obtain the beacon ring without finishing if needed.
